Bugesera District, Rwanda – A group of young dancers from Kanazi sector in Bugesera District is capturing national attention for their outstanding talent and dedication to Rwandan culture. Known as the Kanazi Talent Kids, the group has gained recognition for blending traditional and modern dance styles, inspiring both local and international audiences.
The group, composed of children aged between 8 and 15, started informally as neighborhood performers. Today, they are performing at major events, appearing on national television, and generating thousands of views on social media platforms. Their energetic routines often incorporate Intore, a traditional Rwandan dance, fused with contemporary Afrobeat moves.
According to local leaders, the group is not only promoting entertainment but also playing a vital role in preserving Rwandan culture and promoting youth empowerment. “These children are showing the nation that talent exists everywhere, even in rural villages like Kanazi,” said a representative from the Bugesera District Youth Office.
13-year-old Eric, one of the lead dancers, said, “We dance to express ourselves, to make people happy, and to represent our village. We want to go far, even outside Rwanda.”
The Kanazi Talent Kids have become an example of how creative arts can transform young lives, especially in rural communities. Their rising popularity continues to open doors for performances across the country, and many say they are likely to become one of Rwanda’s top youth talent groups in the years to come.
